Paid Links Are Out, Article Marketing Is In

How will you promote your website in 2008? Will you be buying links in 2008? Are you aware of the benefits of article marketing? As the title of this article suggests, writing articles as a way of promoting a website is suddenly back in fashion.

As recently as the beginning of last year, webmasters were able to basically buy their way to the top of the search engine rankings but Google have now put a stop to this via their war on paid links campaign. People are now running scared of even exchanging web links and so article marketing yet again has come back into the limelight. This is one form of web promotion that not only works but is here to say.

If you would like to see your website obtain higher rankings for its keywords and ultimately gain more traffic, then I would seriously advise you to commence writing articles.

You can write about any subject however content that is related to your website would be preferable. The article should be at least two hundred and fifty words in length, in truth the majority of article directories would rather them have between four and five hundred words. The article needs to be your own work; unique and fresh content is very much sought after at the moment.

You can then submit the article to one or more of the main article directories/websites. My favourite is EzineArticles, others include goarticles, searchwarp, articledashboard and ideamarketers.

Submitting two or three articles will not have too much impact however submitting three hundred will.

I wish you all the best with your web promotion in 2008, happy writing.

The Article Submission Process Is Exhausting, But Necessary

The article submission process is a bit like an inflight movie. You can enjoy it but you might fall asleep a couple of times, get interrupted by the guy sitting next to you or the flight attendant taking your drink order, or you could just miss the best line in the movie because you were daydreaming and looking at the clouds.

It's a long and arduous process.

Sure, you could get one of those mass article submitters and send your articles out to thousands of article directories - most of which won't publish your article anyway. After all, why would a Croatian language directory publish your article on infant mittens written in English?

There are thousands of directories online but only a handful will do you any good. That's why I recommend studying the directories and picking the ones that will provide you the best benefit. There are several reasons you want to do it this way:

  • First, as already mentioned, not all directories will be of interest to you, or interested in your article;
  • Every directory has its own guidelines - some allow links in the article and some allow links only in the author resource box, but that is just one of the many differences. By studying the directories and their submission guidelines, you can tailor your article to each directory to ensure a more qualified, and better quality, article for potential ezine publishers;
  • Specialty and niche directories are easier to find with keyword searches;
  • Article submission software may not have a complete list of the latest directories. Yours may actually cost for an upgrade.
If you want to use an article submitter, I recommend a free one that allows you to create an author bio and upload your article with a push of a button (no need to spend hundreds of dollars to be turned down more often than not). Article Submitter is such a software. It allows you to pick and choose your directories then automate your submission to each of those directories and tweak the article or your author bio to personalize for a particular directory's guidelines if necessary.

Still, even with the best automation process, article submissions can be time consuming. That doesn't mean there aren't benefits.

Here are a few benefits to ponder:

1) You can be a recognized expert in your field in a very short time; 2) Publishers and editors of newsletters and ezines are begging for content - they need your articles and they constantly scour the Web looking for good material to use; 3) Every article features an author's resource box where your contact information is located along with links back to your web site; 4) Whenever an ezine publisher or web site picks up your article, the search engines count each link in your resource box as an inbound link; 5) Articles are a great way to drive traffic to your web site.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. You really do want to submit your articles to the directories. Specialty directories, niche directories, general article directories, you name it.

Not every directory will pick up your article, of course. They all have their guidelines. Some are strict and some are not. I like the strict ones because it means they are interested in well-written articles. That's what I like. The only caution I would issue is this: Stay away from those directories that will take anything. Article spam is about as annoying as any other kind of spam. It tastes baaaaaaaaaad.

If push comes to shove and you want to submit your articles but don't have the time, you can always hire someone to do it for you. But the one thing you shouldn't do is ignore it altogether.

Generating Thousands of Free Visitors to Your Site By Way of Writing Articles

Writing articles is one of the easiest and most effective ways of generating free traffic to your website and getting free advertising. So without further ado, let's get into it and learn all about using articles to generate free traffic...

Now let's get down the root of your article. In this section, this is what we are going to cover

1) Determine the purpose of your article
2) Creating a compelling article heading
3) How to make your article interesting
enough so they click on your resource link
4) How to write your article quickly and make it a viral marketing machine
5) How to spit and polish your article so it looks like you re a professional writer

Let determine the purpose of your article. This might sound stupid, but if you do not know what you want your readers to do when they finish reading your article, how will they know what to do? Before I get too far into writing this, there is one thing you must do before you put pen to paper so to speak.

It does not apply to article writing on the Internet. The purpose of writing articles is to get a response and that sometimes means using unconventional methods of writing. If you cannot handle that your writing my look like it was written in the dark in some sports (maybe a bit harsh) and you are neurotic about it, forget writing on the Internet altogether.

This is meatball writing. We get straight to the point and give the readers all the information in less then 700 words.

Now back to determining the purpose of your article. Here are the usual options that the reader has.

1) Visit your website link in the resource box his is probably the most common response people seem to go to, even if it is the wrong one. People are so fixated with wanting their readers to go to their websites and buy straight away. Tell me something, how many strangers on the Internet have you brought something from because they just told you a great story? None right? You have to preheat the oven before you can ask for their credit card details.

Sending your readers to your website will usually result in a lower sales percentage straight off the bat. That is of course if you are selling them anything at all.If you were selling them something, the best bet would be to send them straight to your newsletter sign up link in your resource box, or even better yet, a free 5 day course via email, which I will talk about in a minute.

But if you are sure you want to send them to your website, the best way to do that is to tell your readers (in your article) that if you go to your website (in your resource box), there is a free gift (of value) they can get, just by visiting your site.

Make sure if you do this, it is not a blatant plug for a product and the gift is of real value, or very few publishers will publish your article, and fewer readers will respond to you in the future. No one likes being sold straight off the bat, and by giving them a free gift, or getting them to give you their email address some way is the best way to go.

2) Visit an affiliate link This one is quite tricky. For starters, some publisher did not allow you to put affiliate program links in your article at all, and if you do, they have to be completely in context and it must be one brilliant article, but that is not a problem. You can of course put an affiliate link in your resource box, which would be allowed straight away. However, if you want your affiliate links in your article here are a few tips.

1. Make sure they add value to your article and are not just blatant plugs.
2. Make sure your article is informative and to the point
3. Give plenty of free information away at your website and or offer a free course
4. Write a brilliant article!

3) Subscribe to your mailing list This is one of the better options? Why, because when they sign up for your mailing list, they are giving you permission to contact them via email on a regular basis. It would be very hard in your article to announce your mailing list in context of the article, as it would come off as a blatant plug, so the best bet would be to include your subscribe email address in your resource box.Do not make them go to a website and subscribe, this will cut your lead percentage nearly in half. All your readers should have to do is send a blank email to your auto responder or mailing list email address and subscribe from there.

4) Subscribe to your free course

This is my favorite way to really maximize your articles. Why?

1. They give you their email address just like they are joining your newsletter
2. They are in the buying mood straight away
3. You get to give them a sales message at the end of your free 5-day course and it won't look like a blatant plug
4. You can offer them more free courses for years to come
5. Just do it!

With a free 5-day course, you are really getting to know your readers better and you are giving them the chance to read more information from you straight away. A free course is just really 5 or so articles put together with an auto responder and sent out over a period of days.

Just like with the mailing list, put your free course link (not a website address) in your resource box.

5) Refer your article to others

If you want your readers to refer your articles to other people, here is what you do.(This is a good idea if you have affiliate links in your article) You send them to a website, with a refer a friend script. This website also has your previous articles on there as well in an easy to use site. You do not need fancy graphics or flash animation, just make it easy to navigate. As I was saying, send them to a page with a refer a friend script on it, and once they do that, give them a free bonus, like the chance to sign up for a free 5 day course you are offering!

You see how many possibilities there are. By giving them something in return with value, like a free 5-day course, you get them to refer your article/website to their friends.

6) Contact you personally

If you want people to contact you personally, do not make them dig through a website to find your contact details. At the very least, put your email address in your resource box, if not your business phone number.

7) Do nothing

Do not be disheartened if a lot of people do not visit your website or take an action from your article, they could just be freebie seekers looking for free information and are not willing to take an action no matter how good your information is or would be.

The secret to article writing is volume. The more articles you have out there being passed around, the more traffic you will end up getting.

8) Flame you

There are some idiots, and yes they are idiots, who would rather send nasty emails to you instead of giving constructive criticism. If you are one of these people, find a better hobby, because it can really hurt a person's feelings. When I was first starting out, and I got some flames, they really hit me hard, but then I realized I was the one making money on the Internet and they were probably spending all day abusing people over the Internet.

Article Marketing - Does It Pay Off To Market In Other Niches?

Many people who get started in article marketing or even Internet marketing in general try to market Internet marketing products. However, they themselves have not made a few decent sales online, let alone make a full-time income on the Internet.

Truth is, there are not many people out there who are interested in making money online as there are people who want to...

- Lose weight

- Get better in relationships

- Get happier

- Have less stress

- And lots more of other stuff!

And there are many more other niches. You'll also be competing with article marketers who are not so into Internet marketing like many of the readers of this article will be. Most of the writers in those niches submit a few articles for testing or merely for small branding purposes.

However (and that is a big however!), if you use them purely for out and out traffic generation to your websites, you can get almost all your articles in the 3-digit zone easily. Many of my articles in other niches reach a 100+ page views after just a week or so and many others hit 300 or more page views.

The simple fact is this: articles in other niches away from the 'make money online' niche or 'Internet marketing' niche generate far more page views, which means far more traffic to your website. You'll also get far less sophisticated competition who are no well-versed in Internet marketing tactics!

So make use of this information to start marketing in niche markets if you haven't. I'm not saying don't sell to the Internet marketing niche (please do so if you have a quality product!), but venture into other niches where it is potentially a lot more profitable.

Article Marketing - The Poor Man's Way To Riches

Article Marketing is the poor man's way to riches. With little or no money, you can drive a lot of traffic with article marketing. By writing a keyword, rich headlines, and body articles you can gain page ranking for your website or product. With high page ranking on the search pages, you will see more traffic on your websites. The same articles will be used for content on other websites which gives you back links and more traffic.

Article Architect is a writing program that simplifies the whole article marketing. It has a keyword search engine built-in that drills down to the best niche. Based on the number of searches to the number of competing sites, there is an article subject research program called SE Snooping built-in that goes out onto the Internet for information. With that, you can write a good rich content article on any topic that will offer your readers very good information on the subject. Another tool is called Brainstorm. It creates 100 headlines for your article based on the information you supply.

The Article Architect is not an automated directory submitter. The format is setup to input all your directories with your passwords and names. Article Architect logs you in. All you do is click and point your articles to the directories submission forms. You can date the submission in the program and track the monies brought in by each article.

This article is just small. Look at a program that has saved me so much time and work. I can write a lot more rich content full articles and know that it will help my readers. If youre writing garbage filled articles to promote your business, this program is not for you. But if you take pride in your work and want to build a rock solid online business, take a look at this program.

There are other programs out there and I say compare quality, the number of tools with in the program, and the price for each one. Article Architect will beat them in every category hands down going away.

You have permission to reprint this Article in it's entirety in your newsletters or blogs. Also please feel free to pass it along to others who you think would enjoy it. Please leave all links active and working.

7 Key Steps to Create More Money in Article Marketing

Written marketing is one of the best marketing available till date. The advantage of the article marketing is due to the ready reference and the ease with which it can be stored. Here are seven key steps to create more money in article marketing.

First thing is to make your article strong. Make use of eye catchy headline. The headline should be able to attract the interest of the reader and hold him to go through the whole article.

Second thing is the totality of the article. For article marketing the article should be total in the sense that it should provide all the information from start to finish. The reader must not run for complete information somewhere else.

Third step is to make your article aesthetically appealing. Make use of good fonts and the size of the font should not be too small to be missed or too big to make it look unprofessional.

Fourth key is giving a format to your article. Make use of your company logo and address. This will develop authenticity of the article and hence interest of the reader.

Fifth step is to make the use of good language that is easy to understand and also maintain interest.

Sixth step is to promote your product with some innovative comparisons and highlighting some key features of the products and services.

Seventh key to article marketing is to provide all the links for future reference and correspondence. And if you receive any query is very prompt to answer it.

Another big thing with article marketing is testing your categories and topics, as I do.

Amazing Article Marketing - Discover 6 Key Secrets to Explode Your Article Marketing

Article marketing is one of the best traffic-generating tools these days. Aside from the fact that it allows you to share your knowledge so your potential readers will consider you as an expert on your field, it also boosts your sales and profits by allowing you to advertise your products and services online for free.

1. Produce outstanding articles. If you want to succeed in this marketing technique, you should make the quality of your content your number one priority. This will either make or break your promotional campaign. To make sure that your copies will be read or republished, they must be content-rich, useful, scannable, easy to understand, keyword-rich, and informative.

2. Be familiar with the rules set by various publishing sites. This will help you write copies that conform to the terms and conditions set by publishers. This will increase the chances of your articles being accepted and published online.

3. Submit regularly. To make your online presence felt, you must write and submit your reading materials on a regular basis. Experts agree that you need at least 3 submissions per day to get optimum result from this method.

4. Track the performance of your articles online. Determine the click through rate of each of your copies to identify which ones are being read. The data that you can obtain through this process can be used in improving your techniques in writing and submitting your articles.

5. Widely distribute your articles. Aside from publishing sites like ezinearticles dot com, you can also post your copies to your website, blog, social bookmarking sites, or even on forums.

6. Proofread. Grammar, spelling, and factual mistakes can easily annoy readers. To make sure that you give your potential clients great reading experience, make it a point to manually proofread your articles before posting them online.

Article Marketing - Click Throughs VS Target Traffic - Thin or Think Articles

It appears that a very large percentage of the article authors who write on the top online article submission sites are more interested in click-through traffic. This is why they write articles and why they post on article marketing sites, as that is its original purpose of such sites.

Indeed, someone writing better articles can perhaps gain the perception of expert and then get more targeted traffic. There of course is that issue of targeted traffic VS traffic. Still I find that debate interesting because if you have an article with 75,000 views and one with 300, then you will as a percentage get more sales on your website from the one with 75K article views, simple percentages and click through rates, sure the click-through rate maybe less than 1/2 or 1/3 but with that degree of difference - who cares.

You have the traffic and a percentage of those will become buyers you see? Thus if I write a "trite" article about the "10 Most Popular Hair Style for 2007" which I did and if it gets 75,000 article views which it did, I still come out ahead no matter how you slice it.

So, you can see the incentive of thinly written, trite content does pull on one's reality if their goal is solely to get traffic. My goals are not traffic anymore and I do not often write silly articles like that, as it was more of an experiment for me, the subject simply does not interest me, and I could care less "What Paris Hilton Eats for Breakfast in the LA Jail," but you can bet someone who writes that article today, will rock with traffic in the future. Think on this, I did and that title is now taken.
