Googletestad and the SEO Bug

Googletestad has become an internet keyword sensation with over 70,000 hits a day on search engines like Google and MSN. While it is not immediately clear what the word means or why it is popular, people are creating buzz that it is a good work for search engine optimization.

Googletestad has spurred new buzzwords like "google googletestad monitor query" or "google monitor query or googletestad" while may seem nonsensical, they are used to best competing search engine optimization keywords.

To learn more about search engine optimization, there are some good books that can be found in book stores or over the internet about keywords and search engine optimization. These books are great resources for finding all you need to know about how SEO works.

While the buzz of googletestad may fall, it's clear that such words creative incentive for others to make up their own buzz words or keywords. Most searches of googletestad will result in sites that don't offer any information about it, but this page is probably the most comprehensive yet. It's really all about search engine optimization.

Critics of SEO state that this method pollutes the internet with articles that have nothing to do with reality.

"I'm tired of all the crap on the internet. Now nearly half of the search results I get from Google or MSN are blatant spam -- what's the use of the internet if it's all going to be a bunch of hooplah," says Noah Bryant of Atlanta, Ga.

Not everyone is so skeptical of SEO. Dick Laxson, a self-employed SEO consultant says, "Of course people are going to get a bunch of non-related material back on a web search if they use such vague search terms. The internet has become a gigantic wealth of information and one or two search words just don't cut it anymore. Once people become more educated in their web searching, they will get more pertanent information."

Can I Submit the Same Articles to Multiple Directories? Part I

Yes and no.

First off: a warning: never submit any articles to any directories if you are going to have the article hosted on your own web site.

You will find that your web site will stop showing in the search engine rankings because the search engines will assume that the articles you submit belong to the article directories, not to you, since the article directories generally have a higher pagerank than you do, and are spidered more frequently. This will generally result in the search engines assuming the article originated with the article directory rather than your own web site, and your web site will not be ranked highly for that page. If you have a lot of pages that fall under this penalty (sometimes know as the duplicate content penalty), your web site will eventually simply not show in search engine rankings.

Now, to the question at hand: can you submit the same articles to multiple directories.

In theory, the answer is no...the search engines will flag all but one of the articles as duplicate content, and they won't give you credit for the inbound link.

In reality...if you submit the same article to 150 article directories within a short period of time, for example 2 days, you will probably find that you not only get about 50 new inbound links from the article directories themselves, but also some inbound links from web sites which choose to host your article on their web site, as a result of finding your article on an article directory.

Profit in Printing - How to Succeed in Publishing

Profit in printing is obtained largely by the ability of the man who is "it" in the establishment. We have all noted how the great publishers tend to fall to decay when the light goes out that led them to success. Ability can find a way through many difficulties; without ability the finest collection of printing machinery will not return the cost of operation.

A few start small, virtually as amateurs, and build up. In the early 20th century, one of the most noted of these was A. E. Chasmar, who developed such exceptional taste in fine printing that his work was known clear across the continent. But usually the man who can make money and build up a plant has to be found. It takes a strong man at the helm to pilot the publishing craft into the harbor of steady profits, and continual good judgment to maintain such position when gained. The personal touch always seems to rise superior to conditions and to rules.

So far as I have observed, the large establishments are always built up by men who know thoroughly their trade, being well grounded in the details of their calling and familiar with the allied arts. Two sorts of ability are necessary the sort that goes to produce good printing, and the sort that can handle the finances successfully. Successful men have an exceptional ability to recognize what they are looking for when they see it, and we can all point to many other examples.

Large capital will make a printing plant go, if the capital can find the right managerial ability; but it is scarce. A printing office investment is a dangerous one for large capital, because of this necessity for brains of a certain type to secure profitable results. But large capital without the right ability will not win out, though it may keep a large publisher going for a long time, thus having a greater chance to find the right man to run it profitably.

Productive Article Marketing - Latest 5 Profitable Steps to Grow Your Article Marketing

Numerous webmasters have unleashed the power of article marketing not only in generating enormous traffic to their site but also bringing in targeted, interested visitors for increased profit. If you have been using this technique but haven't gotten its maximum benefits yet, you might be doing something wrong or you might be missing killer secrets. In this article, I will present the latest profitable steps that can help you grow your article marketing to improve your search engine ranking.

a. Provide useful information. The only reason why online users will pay attention to your articles is because they would like to get valuable information. So, in writing your articles be sure that you offer new information that hasn't been or are rarely discussed. It would also help if your contents are timely, relevant to your target market, and above all, useful.

b. Keep your articles short, simple, and easy to understand. Remember, your main objective in writing articles is to showcase your expertise so your potential clients will trust you. If you are using complicated words and never-ending sentences and paragraphs, chances are, you will not succeed in getting your message across. If you want your articles to be read, you have to make sure that they are short, concise, and easy on the eyes.

c. Make your titles work for you. Give you readers a reason to read your articles. How? By simply communicating with them the benefits they can get through your titles.

d. Pick the best article directories. There are hundreds of article directories online but few have huge, steady traffic. Focus your efforts on these article submission sites (which includes ezinearticles and goarticles) to give your articles the maximum exposure.

e. Hire some help. Marketing your articles is serious business. It can be tedious and time-consuming. It would help if you can get someone to write or submit your articles for you on a regular basis. Just make sure that the people who will help you are knowledgeable and reliable.

SEO Strategy - Obtaining Better Link Popularity

Of all the aspects of effective Internet marketing, applying the important aspects of search engine optimization (SEO) serves as the most vital aspect to fine tuning you online marketing campaigns.

As thousands, or perhaps millions of Web pages exist today, you need to create a good-quality Web site for your business, as well as working hard to promote it, and not get lost in the maze that is the Worldwide Web. You and the SEO expert or firm should devise an effective strategy for promoting your site, and the strategy should be well documented with a more focused approach, and will require a lot of planning, patience and long term approaches.

Choosing An Appropriate Title For your Site's Title Tag

This is also an important step to take, since the title tag is the first thing that the major search engines will see, so you need to always have the correct keywords in your title, and then followed by your site's name. This includes other sections of your site, not just the main page.

Make Your Site Is Neat, Easily Readable, And Not Too Cluttered

You also need to plan your site's layout and appearance with a neat, easily readable layout, instead of it looking too cluttered or messy. This will be good for your online visitors and the search engines as well. Even with a CMS, you should select a CMS that allows you control over it's layout and to make sure that it is neat and does not have too much unnecessary images or text that may confuse your online visitors.

A header section, a body section and a footer section is required. The body section must also contain the main part of your site's content. Navigation menus should be placed at the top or to the side.

Get Good Menu Names.

Ensure that you have proper names, which means keywords, for your anchor text in your menus. This is important because menus usually appear in every page of your site, and with every anchor text is a vote for your page, although this is not valued as an external inbound link.

Obtaining High Link Popularity

It's important that the Web sites that are pointing to your site must have related content, as search engines will give links from sites with related content more value. The second vital aspect to link quality is the actual words the other Web master utilizes in your link.

This is to make sure that the links pointing back to your website include your most relevant keywords in the link title. The art of SEO requires a focus on these important elements. Effectively optimizing your Web site content and obtaining high link popularity from quality links will absolutely help in improving your search engine rankings over time.

If you have think you're running out of budgets for promoting link popularity, link popularity can generally be increased primarily in two ways. The first method is by exchanging links with other web sites with similar content. The second method is by promoting articles that relate to your site, including a link to your site in the article and then submitting relevant articles on as many article directory sites as possible. Utilizing both methods is seen as truly effective; however, the latter is known to work much better.

Article Marketing - My Favorite Way To Drive Traffic

One of my favorite ways to drive traffic to my web site is through article marketing. What is article marketing? Article marketing is the process of writing articles about topics related to your web site niche ideas, adding links to your web site within the articles, and submitting them to the various online article directories for distribution online. One of the really nice things about article marketing traffic is that the leads generated are usually very high quality; another nice thing about article marketing is that there is generally no cost to submitting the articles to the article directories, so for all practical purposes, except for your time, article marketing is free to use to generate traffic.

So how do you do article marketing? Here is a step by step guide to article marketing:

1) Determine what types of ideas and topics are good for your web site? An easy way to do this is to write a list of ten things that people visiting your web site might be interested in. Once you have this list, write down 10 questions someone might have in reference to each of the first 10 things someone might be interested in. This will give you a total of 100 questions or ideas about which you can write.

2) Write 250-350 word articles about each of your ideas, questions, or topics, using the formula I am teaching in this article.

3) At the end of the article, you must have a call to action. Most article directories will call this your resource box, or your bio. I call it a call to action, because it must be more than a bio and a link. It must be a very specific directive that entices people to click the link and get to your web site. If they do not click the link in the article, your article has been basically unsuccessful, so you must learn to write a call to action.

The easiest way to write a call to action is to first create a free item or product that you can giveaway on your web site. Then tell the reader to click here to collect their giveaway. This will create just about the highest percentage of readers clicking through to your web site from your article and of course that is your primary goal when you are article marketing.

1. Improve on your titles. Make them more attention-grabbing and enticing by using powerful words and key phrases that can effectively push the buttons of your potential clients. Don't forget to communicate the readers' benefits or the reason why online users should check on your content. Keep your titles short but striking.

2. Improve your content. Pack your articles with valuable, detailed, and complete information that will help your readers better understand your topic. Never leave any stone unturned by not assuming on what your potential clients already know. Make your content easy to understand, direct to the point, and highly targeted to your potential clients' needs.

3. Improve your resource box. If your conversation rate is not impressive at all, I'd say rewrite your resource box and make it more powerful and enticing. Aside from your name, your website's URL, and your expertise, don't forget to include the benefits that you can offer to online users when they visit your website. You can lure them with more valuable information or freebies.

Lucrative Article Marketing - Uncover 4 Targeted Steps to Make Money With Article Marketing

Any wise marketer today will surely not dismiss article marketing if he is trying to drive traffic to his site. For one, this technique is not only proven to increase the number of visitors a website receives every single day, but more importantly it improves the website's page rank. Not to mention, it is also a good avenue for webmasters to showcase their expertise so they can convince their readers to trust them then eventually buy from them.

By now, I am pretty sure that you would like to use this technique so you can get all the benefits I have mentioned. So, let's uncover the 4 steps to make money through this marketing technique:

1. Write as many articles as you can. In article marketing, the quantity and quality of your articles play crucial role in driving traffic to your website. Thus, I strongly suggest that you create at least 5-7 unique articles per day. This will yield to at least 25 articles per week, enough to increase your site's popularity and page rank.

2. Be direct. In writing articles for the web, it is important that you have the ability to get your message across without beating around the bush. So be direct and communicate your point quickly. The more time you spend using fillers or fancy words, the more time you are allowing your target audience to switch to your competitors.

3. Your articles must be related to your website or your products. There is no sense in writing travel articles with URL pointing to a website about how to make money online. The reason why your readers will click the URL on your resource box is for further reading or to get more information about the topics your have discussed in your articles.

4. Post your articles on blogs. If you are looking for other ways to market your article other than article directories, post your articles on your blog or somebody else's blogs that share your topic. Like article submission sites, blogs are easily indexed by search engines because they are so in demand and they are frequently updated.

Article Marketing Secrets - Lead the Reader Right into the Resource Box at the End of Your Article

You want to lead the reader into your resource box to be successful at article marketing. This can be done in two simple steps.

Step 1 - Give good information and do it in a way that's conversational and inspires people. Write like you talk and make sure you offer at least on good gold nugget of actionable information.

Step 2 - Then in the resource box you then invite them back to your website or blog and exchange their email address for more great quality information from you. You don't even have to be salesy in your resource box. You just follow what I call my FIB formula:

Flow: The resource box flows out of the article body, because the resource box is the next paragraph in the article. Don't do what most article writers do and start the resource box with your name and qualifications. That is like shouting at the reader "The article is now over and you can stop reading now!"

Invite: You invite them back to your website or blog for more information. In internet marketing this is called a CTA or Call To Action. I like to think of it as an invitation, and I even word it that way.

Brand: You brand yourself by mentioning your name and the name of your business. You do this at the end just to make sure that the reader associates the good stuff they are getting with you and your business.

And all you have to do is give them great content and invite them to get some more, from you.

Viral Marketing and Web 2.0 - Explode Your Income Using Modern Online Strategies

The concepts of viral marketing and Web 2.0 shouldn't be new, and if they are you've got some catching up to do. Myspace, Facebook, Youtube, and other social networking websites have taken the internet by storm. And for the creators, it's a gold mine. If you don't have the technical savvy that these young entrepreneurs have, don't get weary. You can still take advantage of these trends for your business RIGHT NOW!

Myspace:

If you don't have a Myspace page for your business or band, let's face it. You're either a huge corporation with a household name already, or you're a small business destined for failure. There are over 200,000,000 registered users. Yes, that's in millions. You can join groups related to your industry, start and contribute to forums, and let people know who you are. Be careful, though. You must adhere to the terms and conditions, and can't DIRECTLY advertise your business (ie. SPAM). Myspace will delete your profile quicker than you can say "Buy my product". When done the correct way, the traffic to your website should explode.

Facebook:

Similar to Myspace, Facebook has roughly 42 million members. Similar to Myspace's Bulletin, Facebook has a feature called The Wall that allows users to post news, events, and other information viewable to anyone that views their profile or is on their friends list. Facebook has a lot of customizable attributes and you can also setup a group that others can join about your company. Facebook was originally created so that college students could network online. If your company's target market is between 18-28 years old, this can be a home run.

YouTube:

This video social networking site is the first of its kind. Anyone can post and view videos, as long as they don't violate the terms and conditions (nothing copywrited, pornographic, etc). Although many of the videos on YouTube can be humorous or news related, many companies are using the power of video to reach new audiences. One fantastic method I've found is to offer free knowledge in your area of expertise, but include a link during the message to your company's website. If you're trying to market your new product that can remove stains from any surface, make a video of yourself using the product with a link at the bottom to your website. This is easier than you think. You can get a decent webcam for around $50, and you can use Windows Movie Maker (free) to add text to the video. Done!

Even if you aren't familiar with Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Google Adsense, meta tags, RSS feeds, and all of those fancy terms, you can still get traffic to your website and make some cash!

How To Stay Motivated To Write Articles Everyday

One of the biggest stumbling blocks to article marketing is to stay motivated to write articles everyday. When I first got into article marketing I wrote one article and was very disappointed with the results. To succeed with article marketing you need to write consistently everyday.

The main reasons for this is that you are not sure which of your articles are going to do it for you. I have had one article that had more than a thirty percent click through rate. I think that this is very unusual. Usually my articles average about a three percent click through. So if you write two bad articles that do not really produce any results then your third may produce some good results and you will get a few subscribers to your newsletter. So if you only wrote the first article you would be under the impression that article marketing does not work.

When you write everyday it becomes very easy to procrastinate and put off writing the next article. So when I think of a good article I immediately sit at my personal computer and type it out before I forget about the idea.

I always think of the bigger picture. More articles translates into more subscribers to my newsletter and more customers. So when I get lazy and am not in the mood to write any articles I will always try to think of the big picture.

One of the other obstacles that you will also face is that at some stage you will experience writer's block. This is when you run out of creative ideas. This is when I visit the main categories of article directories to give me some ideas of what topics I can write on.

Hopefully these tips will help you to see the big picture and stay motivated to write articles everyday.

Internet Marketing - Effective Methods

Every website, whether content-based or e-commerce-based, needs a constant stream of traffic to sustain its web presence. Internet marketing refers to the process of making that happen. This can be in the form of Internet marketing ads, SEO (Search Engine Optimization), article submission, Web 2.0 strategies, publishing ezines, etc. Here is a small peek into some of the most effective methods of Internet marketing:

1. Search Engine Marketing: There are two types of search engine marketing techniques - Internet marketing ads (or pay-per-click (PPC) ads) and SEO. PPC ads, or Internet marketing ads on search engines, are ads that appear in columns and rows (marked as "Sponsored Links") when a search engine results page throws up the search results. Advertisers have to pay for these Internet marketing ads on a per-click basis, which is why they are popularly known as pay-per-click ads. This means that anytime a surfer on a search engine clicks their ad, a pre-determined amount will be deducted from the deposit they have made to the search engine. Statistics say that about 3-5% of people who click on ads are converted to customers, so calculations must be made well before bidding for PPC keywords. SEO is a technique by which a website's content is tailored in such a way that it contains the most important keywords (or search terms) relevant to the site. The result is that when a surfer is searching for a keyword, he is directed to the website, and so it becomes the goal of every website owner to keyword-optimize his content in such a way that his site appears on the first search engine results page. This is a relatively inexpensive technique and very effective too.

2. Article Submission Marketing: There are a host of reprint directories on the Internet that accept articles, which are then "borrowed" by other web publishers and published on their website. A small resource box is placed at the end of each article that has to be published. This box gives the credit due to the writer and mentions his site address. Apart from the regular Internet marketing ads, this is another great way to publicize your website. All a website owner needs to do is create effective content and write a snazzy resource box at the end and submit the article to reprint directories, and hey presto, the article will send traffic from all over the web. Similarly, a website owner can post messages on bulletin boards and leave his website's link in his signature.

3. Ezine Publishing: Many website owners publish ezines and give them away free to subscribers and in the process collect a database of subscribers. For an ezine to succeed as well as an Internet marketing ad, it must contain compelling content. Also, the whole story must not be included in the email that is sent to the subscriber - only a small teaser must appear, inviting the subscriber to click on the link to know more.

4. Web 2.0 Strategies: Blogs and RSS ("RDF Site Summary", popularly known as "Really Simple Syndication") feeds are the new Internet marketing kids on the block. Website owners set up blogs, where they post trivia and articles of general interest, inviting surfers to leave their comments and visit their website. They also offer RSS feeds where surfers can view streaming content by using special RSS-reading software. If they see anything of interest, they click on the link to read the whole story.

5. Banner exchange: There are banner exchanges marketing companies where website owners swap banner space with other websites, without any charge. However, this method of Internet marketing is fast losing its punch and is almost on the way out, because every website owner prefers to publish search engine Internet marketing ads that pay on per click basis.

These are some of the Internet marketing methods that are in vogue today. For more information click on the link given below.

Article Marketing - How To Write Conclusions And Resource Boxes That Pull In Clicks Like Crazy

Here's your chance to discover how to write hypnotizing conclusions and resource boxes for your articles that increase your clickthrough rates through the roof. In this article, we are going to look at these two important components of an Internet article and how to fully utilize them for maximum effectiveness.

Your conclusion can be comprised of one of two things: a summary of your article, or some additional insight that will end your article with a bang, so to speak. Your summary can simply be just a few sentences stating the important points of your main copy and what the reader should do next. Always provide a call-to-action at the end of your article by telling him to take action on the points you have discussed or by clicking through to your website to find out more. You should always get your reader to take action on the techniques discussed in your article. Otherwise the article is no good for anyone.

For your resource box, you want to do the same thing - get your readers to take action. Usually, this means clicking through to your website. You won't get many clickthroughs simply giving them a link to click on at the end of the article. You must get your readers to act by writing a compelling call-to-action.

For example, in the golf niche, I might write:

"Discover How A Golfing Newbie Embarrassed Experienced Pros In The Space Of A Year Using These Covert Golf Techniques!" Click Here To Receive Your Free Report In Your Email Inbox

You must write something out of the ordinary to get the interest and attention of your readers. However, don't lie about stuff. Keep it honest yet interesting and many people will click through to your link to see your offer.

Breakthrough Article Marketing - Discover 4 Must-Have Ways to Excel at Article Marketing

Article marketing is one of the most uncomplicated tools that you can use in driving quality traffic to your website. In using this marketing strategy, you don't need programming skills or spend your precious time convincing other webmasters to link back to you just to improve your page ranking and augment your page views. You just have to write quality articles that are targeted to the needs of your target market and submit them to publishing sites to obtain quality inbound links. It's that easy!

Here are the 4 must-haves ways to excel at article marketing:

1. Focus on the quality of your articles. You would want your articles to be read and widely distributed online to gain unlimited quality inbound links, correct? Then, you need to make sure that your articles are well-written, content-rich, useful, and highly relevant to your target niche.

2. Optimize. Increase the chances of your articles being read by making them highly searchable online. How? By being familiar with the algorithms of various search engines and learning how to identify and position relevant keywords on your content.

3. Submit your articles on a regular basis. To strengthen your online presence, submit at least 5 articles everyday. The more articles you write and submit, the more quality inbound links you can create for your website. Not only that, you will also send a strong message to your readers that you have so much information to share and that you are really an expert on your chosen niche.

4. Keep your articles short. Don't bore your readers with essay-like articles and limit your content to 300-500 words. If you can't fit all your ideas in this word count, I suggest you create another new article.

Lucrative Article Marketing - Discover 6 Ultimate Methods to Breakthrough with Article Marketing

Article marketing is one of the few marketing and product promotional tools that can virtually do it all without burning your pockets. It can easily increase your page views, pull you your search engine ranking, boost your sales, and position yourself as an expert on your chosen niche so you can easily earn the trust of your potential clients.

Here are the 6 ultimate methods to breakthrough with article marketing:

1. Bank on the quality of your articles. This is the most crucial element of article marketing that can either make or break your strategies. If you want your articles to be read, picked up, and widely republished, you must make sure that they are all well-written, informative, and content-rich.

2. Use simple terms. Writing articles for the web means serving online users who come from different geographic locations and have different background and nationalities. That means, some of them might not even be using English as their first language. To get your message across to as many online users as possible, make your articles easy to understand by using simple terms all throughout your content.

3. Optimize your content. Use keywords on your titles and all throughout your content so your articles will become highly searchable online. Make sure that all the keywords you use are the ones that are usually being utilized by your potential clients when they are searching for information in the internet so you can drive quality traffic to your website.

4. Produce and submit original articles. Both search engines and article submission sites cannot be stricter when it comes to content duplication. So, make sure that you offer your readers with only fresh and original content. Strive to communicate your thoughts using your own words and run your articles against anti-plagiarism website like copyscape dot com before you make them available online.

5. Be direct to the point. As you are serving audience who have short attention span, you must avoid beating around the bush at all cost so you will not waste their time. Instead, offer your information upfront and steer clear from using fancy words and fillers.

6. Never insert hyperlinks on your articles. One of the most common reasons why publishers reject articles is because of hyperlinks in the article body. To save your time and effort, save your hyperlinks for your resource box and focus on giving your readers useful content on your articles.

WARNING - Reading this Article Can Result in Phenomenal Search Engine Positioning

Search engine positioning is imperative for gaining online visibility, credibility and website traffic. Call it common sense, ego gratification or simply human nature for individuals, businesses, or bloggers alike to aspire to carve their name into the #1 spot in the SERPs (search engine result pages) and firmly establish bragging rights in Google, Yahoo, MSN and countless secondary search engines.

Aside from the traffic and exposure, there is nothing quite like that top 10 feeling, even more so, if you're feeling lucky and play your cards right, you may in fact lay claim to multiple high ranking positions with tremendous daily search volume as a result of these website positioning tactics.

The sad truth about this is, working hard to achieve a competitive term can be short lived as you may celebrate your top 10 victory before going to sleep, only to wake and find your site punted to a less than satisfactory 12 positions into the nether regions of the 2nd page. Just be prepared, if you aren't defending your keep, all is fair in love and war, and as you know, the competition never sleeps.

Being at the top of the food chain has its advantages, whereas in this instance its the top of the organic listings in Google, Yahoo, Altavista, Ask, MSN and the other top tier search engines that is the prize sought by millions of proud online participants. The advantages are obvious, so without digressing into the reasons why it is important to be in the top 10 organic search results, lets take a brief look at the two types of search engine positioning that can either be (a) the greatest sense of elation you have ever felt in your adult life or (b) the reason why you lose sleep at night thinking about all the traffic you missed, from one slip off the rung.

The Two Types of Search Engine Optimization

In essence there are only two types of optimization, intentional optimization (the words and key phrases you aspire to attain) and the unintentional key phrases (otherwise known as long-tail) optimization. The first typically occurs through meticulous keyword research, building backlinks, link hunting (browsing through your competitors links and looking for patterns, similarities, tactics, etc.) as well as employing various website promotion strategies to catapult your site into the top 10.

The other type of optimization comes through semantic relationships of the keywords your pages are optimized for (or your competitors) triggering responses from search queries and giving the one with the most relevance (or backlinks with the keyword in question in the anchor text) the vote of higher search engine positioning.

One example of intentional optimization are when companies strategically purchase or use a URL with the keywords in the name. Although this is slightly off topic, it deserves a sentence or two to at least bring the tactic to light.

For the sake of elaboration, a website with a keyword in the URL typically has precedence over sites that do not have those keywords in the name (title or description). For this reason strategically it makes sense that if you wanted to rank for a term from the start, then you may wish to consider purchasing a domain with the keywords in the title. Owning the URL and not hosting your site there (just pointing at your current domain through domain forwarding) is not as effective as actually hosting your old site there and performing a 301 redirect at a new keyword-rich URL to give the new address a dose of link love and juice from your previous link building efforts. This is only one of many types of intentional optimization utilized for website positioning.

Another example of intentional optimization is through the use of deep links to give your internal pages more ranking potential from using the key phrases that comprise those internal pages as the anchor text (the text used in the link) for link building when you are developing backlinks from related or authority websites. This of course is nothing new, and when applicable you can control what is in the link instead of click here, depending on the website, if it's a directory, a press release or article. The ideal method of course is writing an article and using the author's resource box to add your leading keyword as a hyperlink to you site or in the instance that it's a blog post, you ultimately get to control the hyper link, the page it points to and the text used to link. For this reason, blogs are the hands down best choice for building links using a platform like word press which by default works wonderfully for optimization purposes if employed correctly.

In any case, this revolves around intentional optimization. The icing on the cake comes later when you realize that if you optimize enough terms that are less competitive, your site begins to move up the tail (the rungs of associated keyword combinations) so to speak and starts to rank for terms with higher relevance and traffic over time as the process gestates.

As a result, it is not uncommon to begin toppling associated key phrases, based on the strength of your content and optimization method. In laymans terms, if you are targeting a category for search engine positioning, the logical thing to do is use "exact match phrases" in the description and body copy when applicable. This creates an association with your site when those same queries are searched for online, much like a signal flare calling in the search and rescue team.

The glue between on page optimization and off page optimization is the volume and quality of the backlinks your pages receive from other websites. Controlling how your website is linked to can mean the difference between you ranking for "click here to visit" or "your main keywords", so if the links pointing at your pages happen to have those same "exact match phrases" your pages are geared toward, then guess who is going to rank higher (at least in some search engines, mainly Google based on personal experience) which is great, for intentional search engine positioning.

Another by-product is, since you know that this process is the underlying basis of ranking higher in search engines (at least for the time being, until other methods are in place to determine relevance). Then choosing the right words for link building are far more important than just making an assumption and using any old text for link development.

As an example, according to word tracker (a keyword research tool), the term search engine optimization for example has a daily search volume of 14,329 per day (which is an extremely high search volume). However if you add one word to it like search engine optimization company or search engine optimization services for example the daily search volume is 323 a day and 292 a day respectively, quite a decrease from the root phrase.

In addition to that, the competition for those terms is also proportionately less than the root phrase. So say for example that you wanted to get a piece of the action and optimize that keyword for your website, the last place you would want to start is at the top of the food chain. Its almost like a newborn hatchling trying to take on the king of the jungle, at very best its amusing and typically results in a frustrating exercise in optimization.

However, on the other hand, if you start at the bottom of the chain and work your way up, chances are you will amass numerous top 10 positions, grow your traffic organically within the realm of that keyword and unintentionally optimize several keyword combinations as a result of covering the pivotal terms (through exact match, anchor text link building) which would later be used in unison during long-tail or more specific queries from prospects performing searches.

So, ideally one should always try to start small and work your way up the chain but also try not to overuse the secondary lesser terms too much otherwise you may only be able to rank for them specifically in that exact order. One remedy is (a) use the root phrase in the descriptions and on page (b) build links with the secondary terms to cover your bases. This becomes apparent later if you try to optimize the less popular terms first and then attempt to go for the main meat and potatoes which is in my opinion more difficult.

By keeping your descriptions and titles lofty with the supreme goal in mind, when you do hit the appropriate digital density to topple the equation in your favor, your pages are already-ready-already as you grow your site into those proverbial key phrases / shoes.

So, remember, dont think like a hatchling, trying to take on a lion at this point is futile, grow your keyword list and strategically acquire rankings (one key phrase at a time) and eventually you will attain the top ranking keywords in your niche.

In the meantime, aside from discouraging others trying to figure out just how you climbed that ladder, your job is to stay ahead of the pack and keep abreast of the next emerging high search volume keywords that can rank all the way to the bank. Catch the wave in time, and you can ride it all the way to the shore and have just enough time to capitalize on it before it spirals down the chain.

Article Marketing - The Best Way To Build Quick Traffic!

Webmasters and affiliate marketers alike are interested in one thing, traffic. Relevant traffic is the blood of the internet and without it no sells, no ads, no internet! But what are the best methods to actually drive relevant traffic to your site? The methods are endless and the amount of traffic you can get through free tactics is pretty amazing. Here are a few of the top methods.

1- Article marketing is king of free traffic building. Easy and fun, if you like writing then this should be your main advertising method, if you can write and release an article every few days to ezine articles and other article directories you can keep a reasonable amount of traffic coming into your site. A good paid submission service to try is Isnare.com, its anywhere from $2-$.50 per submission deepening on how many credits you buy at a time.

2- Although I love free methods of traffic production I really have to give PPC credit where it deserves it. PPC through Google is really worth the price and when used properly with a good site it can turn a good 3-5% conversion rate, sometimes more. Use article marketing first then move to PPC!

3- Another method is forum participation with signatures and blogging. Find a good forum that is relevant to your website and get involved in the discussions. This is an excellent way to build links and get some traffic. Another way is build blogs, lots of them, put RSS feeds on all of them that update daily and link them to your site.

4- Another new method is video marketing. Youtube.com is a huge social website where simple, creative, relevant video can get you thousands of back links and millions of views. This method is a little more difficult to pull off and requires some video editing ability as well as a creative plot. Stupid videos seem to get a lot of traffic so if your website is a funny site then Youtube is prime. But Youtube can be very beneficial to affiliate sites as well

Traffic is key! These methods will help you build traffic, guaranteed. But whether these methods turn into sells is up to your website. Website copywriting is key but that's for another article. There are plenty of online programs that help you build traffic and give you many other tips and tricks, and a few who give you a free website. What Is Free Internet Advertising And Where Do You Find It?

One of the first things you are faced with when you start your own business at home is how are you going to promote it. If you have a website then you need to get visitors to it. Depending on your budget, you may not have a lot of money when you first start out. In this article we want to talk about free Internet advertising that you can use to get traffic for your new business website.

The first thing to understand about marketing on the Internet is that if you do not have to have money to drive traffic to your website you're going to have to make up for that by investing time. This is one of the great things about the Internet, however. Anybody regardless of their present income status can start their own business at home and make it profitable by doing just a few different types of free advertising methods.

When we talk about getting traffic to a website we're talking about a visitor and a potential paying customer. Once they are on your site they can make a purchase therefore earning you a commission on that sale. So it only stands to reason that the more visitors that you have coming to your site the more opportunities you have to make a sale.

One effective method that has worked over the years and is continuing to work is known as article marketing. With article marketing you choose targeted keywords and write articles around those words. Your articles are published online after you submit them to various article directories.

The way that this can benefit you is when you write a quality article, at the end of the article you're allowed to create a bio box. This resource box is a short classified ad promoting yourself, your website and your new business. You're allowed to list your website address, and when people click on that they are taken to your website.

For article marketing to work you need to write a lot of articles and get those submitted to as many quality article directories as possible. If you don't have money to pay to use a submission service then you're going to have to manually enter those articles 1 at a time. This brings us back to what we talked about earlier, in terms of investing more time you do not have to have money to spend promoting.

Your goal with article marketing is to get your website address on as many potential pages as possible. This is known as getting a link back to your website or a back link. Another free Internet marketing method is to get back links. You need to get as many back links pointing back to your website is possible.

You can do this through free classified ads, forum marketing, blogging, social networking, and anything you can think of that allows you to get your website address on somebody else's website.

This summarizes free Internet advertising. You are going to have to be creative and you're going to be ambitious, but the more backlinks pointing to your site the more potential traffic you will have. The good news is when you start your own business at home the internet can help you promote it inexpensively.
