Common Search Engine Mistakes That Kill Your Ranking

Devious means of designing webpages to attract search engine traffic can easily backfire. These are just a few of the methods and techniques that you should keep away from. Don't give in to the temptation that they will work for you. Rather, they will do more harm than good for your website.

Not only will you spend weeks of wasted effort, you may have your site banned from the search engines permanently. Spend a little time learning the proper methods for improving search engine visibility and your web traffic will increase.

1. Free Web Hosting.

Don't consider using free web hosting if you are serious about increasing traffic by means of search engine visibility. Many times the search engines will eliminate content from these free hosts. As well, visitors will often consider these sites to be amateurish.

2. Missing Web Page Elements.

Be sure to check every page in your website for completeness, like faulty links, graphics, etc. There are sites on the web that will do this for free.

3. Stealing Material From Other Websites.

How many times have you heard or read that "this is the Internet and it's reasonable" to take icons and text from websites to use on your site. Don't do it. It's one thing to learn from others who have been there and another to simply copy their work. The search engines are smart, and getting smarter, and more often than not notice page duplication. They may even prevent or delay your future listings.

4. Using Keywords That Are Not Related To Your Website.

Many unprincipled website owners try to increase search engine visibility by using keywords that have nothing at all to do with their website. They place unrelated keywords in a page (such as "sex", the name of a recognized famous person, the hot search theme of the day, et cetera) in a meta tag for a page. The keyword doesn't have anything to do with the page theme. Though, since the keyword is popular, they think this will increase their visibility. This method is considered spam by the search engines and may cause the page (or even the whole site) to be removed from the search engine listing.

5. Inappropriate Choice Of Keywords.

Used correctly, keyword selection is almost certainly one of the critical elements of site design. Choose the right keywords and customers will find your site. Use the wrong ones, your site will see little, if any traffic.

6. Repeating The Same Keywords.

When you use the same keywords over and over again (called keyword stacking) the search engines may demote (or skip) the page or site .

7. Using Concealed Text.

You might think that if you cannot see them, it doesn't matter. Incorrect. Don't try to hide your keywords or keyword phrases by making them iinvisible. For example, by making the keywords the same color as the background of the web page.

8. Using Tiny Text.

This is a variation of the item above (relying on hidden text. Don't try to conceal your keywords or keyword phrases by making them tiny. Making the size of the keywords so small that they can hardly be seen causes an alert to be raised.

9. Keyword Stuffing.

Rather like keyword stacking mentioned above, this means to add unrelated keywords to the description of a graphic or tag by using the "alt=" HTML descriptor. If the search engines find that this text does not actually describe the graphic or tag it will be considered spam.

10. Assuming All Search Engines Are The Same.

Many people take for granted that each search engine adopts by the same rules. This is not so. Each has its own rule base and these are subject to change anytime they so wish. Make it a point to learn what each major search engine requires for gaining a high ranking.

If you have a website then you know the significance of traffic. Traffic is to Internet advertising what location is to real estate. It's crucial to your success. If you cannot attract targeted visitors to your site, you won't make any sales.

More often than not the proprietor or designer of the website is the person who drives traffic to the site. One major element in generating traffic is to be well regarded by the search engines. Of course, you can use paid publicity, but it's going to cost you. Using the search engines to generate targeted (interested in your product) traffic is the least expensive method known.

Unfortunately, many website owners don't appreciate the significance of search engine ranking, which leads to traffic. They place more significance on producing a "pretty" website. Not that this is bad, but it is actually of minor importance to the search engines when determining display ranking. Hopefully, being aware - VERY aware - of the list of common mistakes, made by many website owners, will help you attract more targeted free traffic to your site...after all, isn't that what you want?

JV Giveaways - Build Your List At Warp Speed

Joint venture giveaways, better known as JV giveaways, are events where a group of internet marketers get together and contribute products to giveaway for free. The products are mostly internet marketing related and can be e-books, software, website graphics, videos, and even memberships to various websites. Giveaways are a great place for newbie marketers to fill their virtual "toolbox" with valuable information and scripts at no cost. That is all fine and dandy, but what do the contributors get out of it?

They get to add a new subscriber to their auto responder every time some one downloads their free gift. This is where the list building happens. When a person joins as a member, aka non-contributor, they are able to download all of the gifts that have been donated which are listed on a website. The gifts are listed with a photo, a short description, and a download link. The link will take you to a landing page, which is known as a "squeeze page" in internet marketing lingo. You will have to fill in your name and email address in order to download your gift. Simple enough, right? Well here is where it gets interesting.

Some of the JV giveaways that I have participated in have had over 200-300 contributors. That is an awful lot of free products. The important thing to realize is that all of those JV partners are promoting the same website that contains your product. There are contributors that already have huge opt in lists and the giveaway scripts monitor everyone's affiliate link. If you are not promoting your affiliate link, your product is removed from the JV giveaway. This guarantees two things: lots of promotion and lots of traffic.

If you are the beginner who has a very small list or no list at all, you get to leverage the traffic that is being driven to the website by every JV partner. Where else could a newbie get this much traffic without paying a dime? Now multiply that traffic by participating in multiple JV giveaways and you have some serious list building going on. But the savvy marketer doesn't stop at just building your list. Why not send your prospect to a "one time offer" before they download their gift? One time offers are known to convert well when done properly. This way you actually make money while building your list!

Now all JV giveaways are not the same but most have some kind of mechanism built in to make sure the gifts are of high quality. The truth of the matter is, if you give away something that is an old oversold PLR product, nobody is going to download it and your results will reflect this. Give away a good quality gift and you will see awesome results. If you don't have your own product to giveaway, don't worry. There are lots of places to pick up fresh, new, quality PLR products. As a matter of fact, JV giveaways are an excellent place to pick up just what you need to get started.

7 Steps to Launching a New Product, Program, or Service for TONS of Sales

When I teach one of my Online Success Blueprint Workshops, the section that gets my attendees most excited is when I walk them through an actual product launch.

What's a launch?

It's when you release a new product, program, or service for the first time to your mailing list. A launch is a super opportunity to rack up a TON of sales in a short amount of time.

I basically have seven steps to a launch. In my workshops, I walk through them in great detail and include actual examples and results. But to get you started, here's a brief description of each step and how it works. You can do a launch for any service, product, or program, but for the sake of this article, let's assume we're talking about a product.

1. Drop hints in your ezine beforehand.

Before your product is even ready, start getting your readers curious and excited! Drop hints that something big is on the way and what the benefits are. For example, "I'm working on a brand new product that could help you easily double your sales this year. I can't say anything about it just yet, but you'll know the full story on October 1."

2. Create your sales letter and thank-you pages.

Again, you can do these steps even before your product is ready. In fact, many experts recommend you write your sales letter BEFORE you even create the product. (For my own step-by-step formula to writing a web page that SELLS, see my quick-start guide.) After your sales page, you will need a page to send people to once they purchase -- the "thank you" page -- where they can also download your product if it is digital.

3. Set up the product in your shopping cart.

Log-in to your shopping cart program and set up your new product name, price, and the thank-you page URL. Don't forget to add on shipping or sales tax if applicable. I hope you use a shopping cart with all these capabilities! (I use, love, and recommend QueenCart.com.) Then stick the product link on your sales page.

4. Send out a solo mailing to your customer list.

When everything is ready, it's time to start your promotions! The first people I alert about any new product are those who have already bought from me. It's my most responsive list, and this will be your most responsive list, too. Keep this email short and sweet. Your only objective is to drive them to your sales page, where they can get the full story. (For my own step-by-step formula to writing an email that SELLS, see my quick-start guide.) To make your customers feel special, give them a special discount or bonus that's just for them. And give them a deadline to respond by.

5. Send out a solo mailing to your ezine list.

I do this a few days after I promote to my customer list. Same idea, different list. Got it? Good.

6. Let your affiliates know how to promote this new product.

After I launch my product to my own lists, I let my affiliates know that I have a new product they can promote! Send them an email with the details, their individual affiliate link that gives them credit on any referred sales, and even ad copy they can paste into their ezines or websites. Don't forget to mention how much commission they get per sale. (I do this all through QueenCart.com.)

7. Promote in your ezine on an ongoing basis.

Once your launch is over, don't let your product wither away and die! Keep the momentum going. Make sure you highlight it on a regular basis in your ezine via ads or articles, and that it's also easy for visitors to find on your website.

BONUS TIP: Give them a reason to buy today!

People are so busy these days that they will put off ANY decision possible. So, you will ALWAYS get more sales when you give people a reason to buy NOW and not later. For example: Put a time limit on your offer or have a limited quantity available.

Crank Out Multiple Articles To Become An Expert And Explode Your Business

Let me ask you a very important question. Are you still struggling to see results from your article marketing efforts? You may be writing articles, but simply not getting the results that you want.

In this article I would like to go over the key ingredient for article marketing success. You simply are not writing enough to achieve success. The biggest problem is that if you plan on only doing one article a day then this method of promotion will not work.

You are branding your name on the internet. When people subscribe to your newsletter or purchase your product it is because you have built your brand up and people trust you enough to do business with you. As the famous sales trainer Jeoffrey Gitomer once said people only do business with other people that they like, know and trust.

Ask yourself honestly who would you rather purchase from somebody who has 5 articles out there or somebody who has 500 hundred articles. If you read 500 articles by one author you are more likely to trust them and purchase their product than if you only read 5 articles. So to dramatically increase your business you need to increase the number of articles that you have out there.

This is a common mistake by many newbies. They think that all they need to do is write 20 articles and they are going to achieve massive success. You need to be producing and submitting articles to directories on a consistent basis to make this method work. Eventually you will build your brand as an expert in your market and when people are ready to purchase they will automatically think of you first.

Article Marketing - Powerful Tips to Make Article Marketing Easy

Not many people know that the concept of article marketing came into being with the conception of the Internet. Analysts have discovered that the most effective technique to lure in interested users to a particular website is by first presenting an article to this reader. A plethora of content-related websites have now pooled together to launch a highly effective marketing campaign where each website hosts an article linked to another content-connected site. This article acts as an advertisement enticing users to the related website for more information. Statistics show that this marketing strategy instantaneously multiplies your website hit counter.

There are several ways of propagating your article through the network of content-connected websites. Your budget and the available time frame are the decisive factors since article marketing can be made available for a cost-effective amount or for absolutely nothing at all! There are two options for you to explore, namely Ezine directories and the paid services. In the case of the Ezine directory, although your article will be hosted on specific web pages, it is not copy protected as anyone may reuse your article. This is by far the most popular option since a single article can infiltrate countless websites within a short period of time. This automatically boosts your website backlinks. EzineArticles.com and GoArticles.com are two of the most important Ezine directories. However, paid distributors such as ArticleMarketer.com and Isnare.com save you the time and energy of going through the tedious process of sending each article to the directories. These software packages or paid services deliver results as soon as they take control of the circulation aspect.

Xocai MLM Business - Opportunity Or Scam?

Xocai (or MXI Corporation) has attracted much publicity for their healthy chocolate beverage. They purport to have many scientific reports verifying the quality and effectiveness of their chocolate. They have also positioned themselves as an income opportunity, as Xocai is a network marketing business.

There are some very real concerns and issues about starting or participating in a Xocai business. In this article, I will provide an unbiased review of the pros and cons of developing a business with Xocai, and see if we can find out whether Xocai is a great opportunity...or a great scam.

1. Xocai - The Good

Xocai was founded by Andrew and Jeanette Brooks. The first thing that stands out is the name (Zokay? Zoky?). It is actually pronounced "show-sy", and derives its meaning from two words: xoclatl, which is an Aztec word for chocolate, and acai, which is a potent antioxidant fruit. Put them together and what do you get? Evidently, a tough-to-pronounce chocolate beverage.

The beverage itself is reported to be quite tasty, and chock-full of antioxidants. The health benefits are said to include greater energy, more restful sleep, relief from arthritic pain, reduced inflammation, and even aid in insulin regulation in diabetics. Considering the level of health of the average American, and with people living longer and longer, starting a business marketing what could be considered a "healthy vice" would seem to be a smart move.

2. Xocai - The Bad

Xocai distributors are paid out commissions via a binary compensation plan that supposedly pays out up to 50% on total volume. Good luck trying to prove that - the compensation plan itself is complicated enough to discourage and confuse an M.I.T. graduate.

For the product itself, MXI corporation recommends that you consume the chocolate 3 times daily. For people who love chocolate on tap, this is probably great news. However, if you enjoy sweets in more moderation, then you'll need to be prepared to hand some of it off to others.

Funny enough, that is exactly how Xocai recommends you market the product. Hand it out to other people on your own dime via "tasting parties" or other social gatherings to feast on chocolate.

3. Xocai - The Ugly

Xocai is distributed through network marketing, and like many companies, they teach their distributors to leverage their "warm market" of friends and family to sell the chocolate. This is done with free samples and "sizzle calls" that explain how someone could make tons of money selling healthy chocolate.

The fact is, someone could absolutely make tons of money marketing healthy chocolate - if they know how to market effectively. Trying to build a six-figure income on the backs of friends, family, and work associates is more than just a tough sell - by leveraging your personal relationships for financial gain, you run the risk of actually damaging those relationships. Trying to "sell" and convince people on the legitimacy of your product and opportunity is much less fun and much less lucrative than talking to people that have already expressed a direct interest in what you offer.

In closing, I would say that starting and developing a Xocai business is lucrative if someone knows how to use the telephone, the Internet, and other effective marketing tools. It is not a scam, but like any business, success will be determined by the skill-set of the marketer. Xocai is definitely not a lottery ticket or a stock option - meaning, you do not just buy in and wait for a payout.

If someone does not have the first clue on how to market effectively, then I would suggest they either learn how to be an effective marketer, or else just use the chocolate drink as a health supplement.

Article Marketing - How to Write an Article When You Don't Have Time to Write an Article

Some days I feel like I just turn around and the day is gone. I dont think I have time to write, most days, but I some how do manage to write almost every day.

When I first get up in the morning, I find I have about twenty minutes before anyone else gets up, calls me, or figures out that they need my attention for whatever given topic they want me to do. Twenty minutes isnt long, so I have to get whatever Im going to do, done fast.

There are several methods of Article Writing Starting Processes that work well for me:

1. Start a list of topics

2. Add sub-topics under each topic

3. Add more topics and expand each sub-topic into more sub-topics

4. Write a paragraph about a topic.

5. Write down a quote about a topic.

6. Write down any thoughts on a given topic.

7. Write down a thought about where you got the topic idea.

All of these go into a single Document File, and I pull random ideas from the list, if Im stuck for a topic or writing idea. Beyond these, I use a spiral to jot down ideas when Im not at my computer. I have a small box by my computer where I put slips of paper that I list ideas and topics whenever Im not at the computer and dont have the spiral. Im always and forever, calling myself to leave a message --- TOPIC IDEA.

Literally, If I sat down and wrote constantly for two months, I dont think I could ever run out of ideas.

Once I have ideas, the writing goes fast:

1. Write a working Title

2. Ask a question.

3. Answer it with a referral to your article.

4. Write your specific format - tips, paragraphs, or thoughts.

5. Ask your reader if you can help them find an answer.

6. Write a quick referral and link to your site.

7. Copyright your article.

Youre done!

Article Marketing - Revealed - 5 First Secrets to Supercharge Your Article Marketing

Article marketing has earned the nods of millions of webmasters. However, there are still quite a few who do not fully understand the process and particularly concern about duplication of content that may result from submitting the same article to various publishing sites. Some webmasters are wary as they do not wish to be penalized by major search engines particularly by Google.

In this article I will discuss the first 5 secrets to supercharge your article marketing by using article as your website content and article marketing material without worrying about content duplication and penalties from search engines.

1. Use only original articles on your website. You are the only one who have control over your webpage, so you must be particularly careful on the content that you will put in it. To avoid duplication, make sure that your website content is fresh, unique, and all original. By doing so, you can please search engines and you will avoid penalties for content duplication.

2. When you decide to do article marketing, make sure that you post your article on your website first. This is to alert the search engines that your content is original and cannot be found elsewhere. Submit the articles to publishing sites after 5-7 days, giving enough time for search engines to acknowledge your content on your website.

3. When you are ready to submit to publishing sites, prioritize the best, most popular article submission sites. These sites are constantly searched by webmasters and publishers so they can get articles that will be republished.

4. Once done with the major publishing sites, you can then post your articles to other not-so popular article submission sites, blogs, forums, and social networking sites.

5. To better position yourself as a great source of information, make sure your consistently write and submit articles on a regular basis.

Super Charge Your Affiliate Marketing With Articles

If you're new to affiliate marketing online, you may not have much money to spare for marketing and advertising efforts. Thankfully there are some great alternatives that cost little to nothing, other than your time. One of the best known is Article Marketing.

Article Marketing is the process of writing quality articles which are then given out free to various places around the web. These articles have your name and information on them, along with a link or two to your website. Your website should then have some kind of information available about the affiliate program or product you're promoting.

When you give away your articles at no cost, more people will read them around the web. And each person that reads the article could potentially click your website links and visit your site. If you've done a great job of introducing your affiliate product on your website, they may then click the affiliate link and make a purchase. This of course earns you money.

Not all affiliate marketers promote a product on their website though. Instead, they use article marketing to get visitors to an email sign up page. When the visitors sign up for the information you're offering, they'll start getting regular email messages from you. And your email messages are the ones that will promote the affiliate products for you instead. This allows you, as an affiliate marketer, to build your own targeted prospect list around certain topics. And over time you'll be able to promote additional affiliate products to that list which are related in topic, so you can make even more money from the same people.

Whichever way you decide to use it, article marketing can be one of the simplest, most inexpensive ways to start making money as an affiliate marketer. And there are just four simple steps:

1. Find a great topic. Sometimes this is called finding a niche, but the point is the same: Figure out what people are really interested in - or even desperate for - on any given topic. If they're really itching for information about something, they're more likely to buy without thinking twice about it.

2. Find a great affiliate product. The affiliate product you choose of course should be related to the topic you found in the previous step. Make sure the product has an excellent sales page, so the traffic you send to that page will be more likely to convert. Also of course, make sure that product is as great as it seems, so you don't end up with lots of sales that end up being refunded.

3. Start writing articles. These don't have to be perfect and they won't be graded by your English teacher either. Just write the article about small pieces of the topic you chose in step one. Write as if you're talking to just one person, and that will make it more conversational and engaging.

Your articles don't have to be long essays either. Most good web based articles range in size from 300-500 words, but you can make it as long as 1000 words if you have that much to say. A better option though, would be to break a longer article into two parts because that will give you two articles to distribute instead of one.

4. Distribute your articles. This is the easy part. Once you've finished writing, be sure to create a signature style area at the end of your article which has your name, copyright, a bit of information about you or your website, and a link. Then simply submit the articles to various directories and distribution sites around the web.

Article Marketing - How To Get Your Articles Read!

As a zero-cost, exposure-rich way to get your site noticed on the Internet, article marketing is hard to beat. After all, what other method lets you tell people about things that interest them, put your link into other large sites for free and virally spread the word about what an expert you are - for free?

The techniques are simple and well within reach. In fact, effective article marketing means keeping away from sophisticated literary styles. You are communicating with people who want good, clean information that's easy to digest and quick to read. It's as though you were explaining something to a friend. When you write your article, imagine that person to be in front of you and write your article so that they can immediately understand what you are talking about.

Although the techniques are simple, there are some basic rules to be observed. First of all you do need to write correctly. If you have doubts about your ability here, take heart. There are ways to get around this (notably, write short, simple sentences that have a good "flow") and tools to help as well. If you are using a text editor like Microsoft Word, then use the built-in spelling and grammar checker. In fact do this even if you have supreme confidence in your ability to write. It's extraordinary what errors can go unnoticed because you are re-reading the text that you wrote yourself. The checker will find these for you.

In addition to this, a number of article sites, focusing on quality articles, include basic spell checking as a possibility in the submission procedure. Note that quality for them means the same thing as indicated above: articles that are of interest to their readers and that bring them clear, relevant information in an easy to digest way.

Your choice of article sites will be important as well. Some of them are very big and well represented in the search engines. On the other hand, it may be more difficult to get your articles authorized for inclusion. You'll want to write a series of articles in any case to get into the swing of it and to test on various sites. Submit your articles and keep track of how quickly they get included, what the click rate is (how may people reading your article) and how well your articles get rated in search engines, especially for keywords that interest you. Then compare and focus on the article sites that are getting you the best results.

Article sites also have guidelines on length of articles. In fact, make that "restrictions" rather than "guidelines". When you read their submission procedure, you will typically see how they want articles to be submitted. For the length, 250 words is a minimum, 500 words is more in favor. But don't make your article too long either. If you find that you have a lot to say, then chop your article up into 500 word chunks, each chunk dealing with one aspect of the topic. That way you'll be able to submit multiple articles as well and benefit from multiple exposures.

Next on the list is the resource box that is also a feature of many article directories. This is where (and it is the only place) you get to sell. Do not sell in the main text of your article. Inform, entertain, question if you like, but avoid the sales pitch. Editors will often refuse articles that come on too strong on the sales side, and even if they make it through, readers will lose interest fast. After all, their goal in reading is not (yet) to buy. Warm up the discussion by degrees. Give them good information that encourages them to get to the bottom of the article and to click on your link to then go to the next phase of "pre-selling" or possibly a sign-up page for a newsletter, a product or a service.

Have some fun with the resource box if you like. Apply some of the classics to grab people's interest, like spiking their curiosity, using appropriate humor or appealing to their instincts of greed or fear. That's what will incite them to click on and go to your site, to make your article marketing a success.

Online Article Word Count - The Reader's Perception of Author's Authority on Topic

Articles which are very short often have very little substance. Now this is not universally true or an absolute by any means, but generally it is. If your online articles have very few words the chances of the reader perceiving you as an authority on the subject might be very low.

The reason you should you care or even consider this topic is because as an online article author you want your reader to see the wisdom or brilliance of your article so they know that you know what you are talking about. If the reader sees this while reading your article then the chances are much better that they will seek you out for more information or visit your website.

Informational selling requires that the information you give to the reader or prospective customer is relevant and reality based. In my humble opinion, I believe that not only should the reader perceive that you are the authority on the topic, but also that you should be an authority and expert on the topic you are writing on. Otherwise one might say you are using trickery to attract Internet Surfers.

So the question has been pondered at the top online article submission site: "How many words does it take in a given article to be perceived as an authority on a micro-topic?"

As the leading authority on online article writing, having written some 11,000 articles, it is my contention that your articles should deliver information to the public or your potential prospects that they cannot easily find elsewhere and that the articles you write give at least one new thought or piece of valuable and readily usable fact. So, the real question is how many words does it take to accomplish that?

Article Marketing - How You Can Massively Increase the Effectiveness of Your Articles

Article Marketing is something that thousands of people do to drive traffic to their websites. It's no secret that a well written article can be thought provoking enough for readers to want to know more about either you or your services. So, what do they do? They click on your link in your resource box. But are you making effective use of understanding the conversion rates for the clicks that you get?

From my own perspective, my main interests are in motivation, wealth creation and self defense. These are the subjects that I write about most often. However, I am departing from that here because I have discovered something that I think will be of benefit to all article writers.

I don't write about things like "the best sexual positions" or "cell phone number spying" or "how to increase your penis size" or "how to shave your pubic hair" or "how to tell if your spouse is cheating on you" or any other such subjects that get tens of thousands of hits. Why? Quite simply I don't have a website on any of those things that could take advantage of the traffic it would bring.

Now here is something that you will probably find interesting...

I have over 250 articles all over the web in hundreds of "far-flung" places and in many different languages. This number of articles will show significant trends when viewed in terms of statistical anaysis.

I know which articles are "ball-bursters" and which are complete flops. So, what does that tell me? Write more articles (in my domains of knowledge and interest) that are popular - obviously! What is the point of writing articles that nobody else wants to read? Now here comes the interesting bit...

By analyzing the results of these articles I am able to see which ones are giving me the most click-throughs to my websites. Time for a little mathematics...

If I have 1,395 click-throughs from 170,424 views of my articles then my conversion rate is 0.82%. That tells me that for every thousand people who read my articles only 8 will be interested enough to go to one of my websites. Pretty horrendous huh? Then again, there are millions of articles on the web and people's time is at a premium. A reader has to be REALLY interested to make that click.

So, if I have some articles - which I do - that are returning the following statistics, what does that tell me?

  • 8 from 23 ( conversion rate 34.8%)
  • 400 from 2,667 (15%)
  • 28 from 154 (18%)
  • 191 from 1736 (11%)
  • 23 from 81 (28%)
That tells me that these particular articles SMASH my average. Hmm. So, what else does that tell me? Here is what I think...

  1. - The headline REALLY worked because it attracted attention
  2. - The article summary/teaser REALLY worked because it made people curious
  3. - The copy (article body) REALLY worked because it contained good information
  4. - The resource box REALLY worked because people wanted to know more.

So, now, what do you think I should do?

  1. - Write more headlines like that
  2. - Write more summaries/teasers like that
  3. - Write more articles like that
  4. - Write more resource boxes like that

The other thing - which I have not yet analysed in depth - is that the keywords REALLY worked. I need to look at that more.

So what is my point is this?

Watch what your statistics are telling you. Once you get the "formula" correct then all it requires is for you to stick with it and you will see a LOT more click-throughs to your websites than you thought was possible. I may have more to say on this later. Stay tuned...

PLR Articles Don't Work!

Without fresh, unique content, your website is destined for second best. Or even failure. The search engines won't cater to it and visitors will be bored and click elsewhere. If you want high-quality, action-taking visitors, then you need the best in one-of-a-kind content.

Perhaps you're using free articles to flesh out your web pages. Maybe you've taken the next step and invested in PLR (Private Label Rights) groups, where you can use their content and sign your own name. This is great in that it's fast. But that's where the advantage ends.

When the search engines come calling, they will immediately notice that your articles look exactly the same as other articles they've seen all over the web. Yes, this means your PLR articles, too, unless you've changed them to make them unique. This lowers the score they give your website, which in turn lowers the placement you'll get when a search engine user types in your keywords. The lower the search engines results placement, the less chance your site will be seen. Studies show that almost all clicks on search engine results happen in the first three pages of the results, and most happen on the first page. Chances are, no one will ever see your site if, when they searched for your exact keywords, your site ended up on page 674 of the results!

The search engines like to keep a little mystery, so they never reveal exactly how they score websites they visit. However, many things can be ascertained from observation. One is that if a site contains content that is duplicated on other sites, like the article directory you got it from, its score is lowered significantly. Remember, too, that your competitors are searching the same article databases and may be using the exact same articles you are. That won't give you a competitive advantage! You need unique content to get your score raised and your website shown on the first page. There's no way around it.

Fortunately, this isn't as hard as you may have led yourself to believe. Here's a method that will give you great unique content without tearing your hair out researching and writing from scratch. First, find an article you'd like to use, if it wasn't already out there. Now, simply rewrite it. Read the first paragraph. Read it again, until you've digested the content and understand it completely. Put the article aside. Rewrite the paragraph you just read in your own words. Move the second paragraph and repeat. Continue until the article is finished. You now have unique content that will be fresh meat to the hungry search engines. Higher scores, better results rankings, and better and more targeted visitors result.

Writing unique content brings in free, targeted traffic. This is a skill every Internet marketer learns to master. If you haven't yet, it's time to take that first step. Try the method outlined and see how easy it is. Don't forget to use that spell checker! Congratulations on taking your first steps to being a writer!

Link Building Service Give Quick Results

Link building is the benchmark of being successful on the web. Well, almost everything these days staring from your favorite food, book, movie and clothes among others has a web presence or in other words an online presence. Just having a web presence is not sufficient, but you must be very popular for customers to know about what you are offering to them. So for this you need to build links of your site on the web. Link building services provided by companies are the different strategies which are used for increasing the links of a site on the World Wide Web. Link building has been found to be one of the very successful strategies undertaken for search engine optimization.

Search engines put a major emphasis on the links which are present on the site, to assign them rankings on search engine results. Building up links on the web is not an easy task and one needs to hire professional link building services, if you want to get the best results for your business. Each website is made differently and that is why the potential of inbound link is also bound to be different. The baseline is that the site must get good inbound links and just any other link will not work. The link building service that you will hire for your business must be effective enough to give you the best results.

Links are the important elements that helps search engine in determining the level of popularity of any site on the web. In simple words, if you have more links to your site from other site your site will be ranked highly by all the major search engines. There are some things that you must consider while exchanging links with any other site. Make sure that the site is complete, no one wants to exchange links with a site that is not complete. In fact, link building services will not be successful if you do not follow the guidelines properly. The amount of content must also be good, since search engine put a lot of emphasis on the content available on a site for ranking purposes.

A simple way for you to go about doing link building services is to type the keywords on which you want to promote your site and see the results that come up. You can browse the sites that come up in the result and see if the site provides any facility for link exchange with other sites. Well, even if you find that the site does not provide the link exchange facility, you can write to the webmaster directly and request for a link exchange program with you. Another thing you must take care for your link exchange under link building services is to exchange links only with that site, which has a higher page rank then yours.

Link building services can be obtained from several companies, but you need to be a little cautious about this. Simply make sure that you hire the link buildings services form those firms which have a very good track record. In other word, hire link building services from the best firms who have the most efficient staff working for them.

Advantages Of Using SEO Articles To Promote Your Affiliate Program

Many experts believe that the best way to promote an affiliate program web site is by using SEO promotional articles. There are numerous advantages that a home business owner using SEO articles enjoys.

The biggest is probably the fact that articles last forever meaning that they will drive highly targeted traffic to your site for a very long time. The beats every other form of promotion or advertising which will usually stop the moment you quit paying for it. What this means is that you can work very hard to generate a few hundred articles and post them at leading article directories complete with the right keyword phrases and you can then sit back and enjoy respectable and in some cases growing traffic for many years to come without having to lift a finger again.

Then there is the fact that articles are a very effective way of optimizing a site. You just need to do a couple of dozen articles with the right keyword phrases and you will notice some amazing amount of traffic crowding in the direction of your web site from search engines. Search engine traffic is usually very targeted and considered very high quality traffic, especially for an affiliate web site.

All these are extremely important factors because as you promote your affiliate program web site, you must bear in mind the fact that there is difference between attracting lots of traffic and attracting the kind of traffic that has a high conversion rate into clients. Basically what you want to do here is to attract the kind of traffic that has a high conversion rate. There are too many stories told about affiliate programs where affiliates were successful in attracting very high traffic, but ended up with nothing to show for it because the conversion rate was extremely low. One thing you can be fairly sure of is the fact that traffic generated by promotional articles and SEO articles tends to have a very high conversion rate. The reason for this is simple. Articles are very effective at pre-selling so by the time somebody reads an article and clicks on the link leading them to the site, they are already pretty much sold to already.

While it is true that you will have to learn the basics of SEO (search engine optimization) before you can qualify to write high quality SEO promotional articles, the truth is that this is something that is fairly easy to learn and will guarantee that you are able to effectively promote your affiliate program web site.

Powerful Article Marketing - Discover 5 Marvelous Ways to Advance in Article Marketing

There are millions of article marketers in the World Wide Web today, making the competition in getting online users' attention stiffer than ever. If you are finding it rather difficult to cope up with cutthroat competition, these 5 marvelous ways can help you advance in this marketing technique:

1. If your clickthrough rate is not that impressive, I'd say do something with your titles. People are most likely unwilling to check on your content because they don't find your headlines appealing enough. Learn the ropes of writing effective titles to effectively get more people to notice your content.

2. Bank on your content. When marketers say that the success of your article marketing campaign relies heavily on the quality of your content, they were not lying. If your articles are well-written and offer sound solutions or answers to the questions and problems of readers, your potential clients are more likely to trust you and check on your website as they will feel that you are the person who can help them out.

3. Be consistent. Long absences can make your readers forget about you. Strive to write and submit articles on a regular basis to strengthen your online presence and credibility. This will also help you make your readers realize that you have so much information to impart.

4. Your articles must be factual. As a responsible writer, you must take time to check on your articles and verify if they are truthful so you can avoid misleading your readers. If you are presenting new concept, I suggest that you back up your claims with studies and other relevant data to make your content sound credible.

5. Use keywords. One of your main objectives in writing your articles is to attract search engine traffic. You can easily do so by sprinkling relevant keywords and search phrases on your content.

Internet Marketing - On A Fast Track

While marketing has unlimited means of reaching its target audience, Internet marketing has grown to be the most popular marketing medium. Companies are aggressively using search engine optimization and other techniques to reach remote consumers. Businesses use constant emails and video advertisements on websites to woo customers. popular Internet marketing is emerging as the favorite marketing strategy of both small and large enterprises.

Online Shopping this Holiday Season

According to eCommerce research firm comScore, shopping by online customers grew significantly this holiday season. Spending grew to $28 billion, up 19% compared to last year. On December 26 (the day after Christmas), sales touched $545 million, a record 50% jump compared to the same day last year. December 10 was recorded as the heaviest individual spending day of the season. Online retail giant Amazon.com announced its "best holiday season ever."

However, with the sub-prime crisis hitting the U.S. markets and with talks of a jittery U.S. economy, it is not surprising that the growth in online shopping was not as robust as the 2006 holiday season.

Advertising on the Internet

A study by AT&T conducted by Western Wats revealed that approximately 65% of small enterprises advertise in the yellow pages directory. However, about 53.1% of the small business respondents said that in the next two years they expect to advertise through online videos. AT&T noted that although many consumers are still using the yellow pages for business information, they search on the Internet before actually buying a product.

With the Beijing Summer Olympics approaching, spending on advertisements in every sector is expected to accelerate. Multinational corporations are sure to make further inroads into China's fuming economy.

Studies reveal that in the coming years, more companies will resort to advertising with Internet videos. People now have less time to read through text-dominant advertisements; plus, videos have proved to be more appealing.

Though the U.S. economy is said to hit a recession track, online ad spending is expected to be resilient.

Marketing through Social Networking Websites

Sending bulk emails is a marketing stunt used to date. Many companies are now switching to social networking websites to market their products so these are known as marketing medium. MySpace and Facebook are expected to be major players in the online social networking space. These sites in the future would be top destinations for online shoppers through Internet marketing.

Online Customers Rank High with Retailers

The Customer Respect Group's "Customer Respect Index," has ranked retailers high in respect to handling their online customers. The study evaluated retail websites on three parameters - usability of sites, communication in respect to emails and online chats, and trustworthiness. In all three situations, retail websites such as Ralph Lauren, Gap, and Old Navy outperformed the industry average. v 2008 is predicted to be a good year for Internet marketing. Companies are gearing up not to miss a piece of the cake.

Targeted List Building - Uncover 3 Practical Steps to Excel With List Building

If you are an ebusiness owner, you must never discount the power of having a targeted e-mail list. This can be one of your most powerful tools in marketing your product and building personal relationship with your clients so you can improve your sales potential and of course, your profits. A lot of webmasters are actually using this technique not only because it is efficient, but it is also very cost-effective.

Here are the 3 practical steps to excel with list building:

1. Create your squeeze page and drive traffic to it. Make your squeeze page enticing and promising by communicating to your readers the benefits they can get once they subscribe to your list. It can be free information, discounts, or freebies. Then, drive your potential clients to this page through article writing, forum posting, ezine publishing, or article marketing.

2. Bank on your website content and design. Most online users are very wary when they are giving their contact information because they do not want to be spammed. That is why, they carefully scrutinize the credibility and professionalism of an ebusiness owner before they send their e-mail address. You can make these online users trust you by projecting a professional image through your own website. Make sure that it offers no nonsense information and that it is designed very well.

3. Advertise. With millions of webmasters aggressively building their e-mail list, you have to make sure you get ahead of the pack so you can get quality, targeted e-mail list. You can do this by posting your banner ads to websites that are frequented by your target market. You can also throw away freebies to entice more potential clients to sign up. In addition, you can combine all proven methods (article marketing, ezine publishing, forum posting, banners ads, etc.) to build your list quicker.

Proper SEO Tactics Can Maximize Page Views - Income And Traffic

Everyone is familiar with the idea that your website should be optimized for the search engines. But many people are not aware that this same SEO strategy should be applied to your articles as well. An article with proper SEO keyword usage will get a much more attention from the search engines than an article without keywords.

Proper SEO keyword usage should be in the area of 2% to 5% of the total number of words on a page. Using this technique, your articles will get a much higher ranking in search engine results. In fact, I have had some of my well optimized articles appear in 7 of the top ten listings on page one.

There are many keyword optimizing tools available. But, if you do not have access to software, you can use an alternative (and much slower) method. Paste the document into your word processor and do a word count. Then select 'find' and type in the keyword that you are optimizing for. Count the number of times that your keyword appears. Finally, do the math. Divide the number of times your keyword appears by the total words in the article. Multiply the result times 100. The resulting answer is the percentage of your keyword to the total number words. Ideally, it should be a number between 2% and 5%.

If your calculation indicates that your keyword percentage is greater than 5%, rework the article. Some search engines will penalize your article if the keyword is over-used.

So, if you want to maximize the chances that your article will get good search engine attention, use proper SEO tactics and optimize it using the techniques above. These SEO tactics can maximize page views, income and traffic. Remember, the best article is the one that gets the most page views.

Web 2.0 Strategies - Stop Fighting The Power!

It's time to release the future of marketing from the headlock that you've put in. I'm talking about curmudgeons out there. While many have greeted Web 2.0 with open arms some refuse to embrace it and instead prefer to fight tooth and nail. If the past methods of marketing worked online no one would be eager to find new methods. This is the web--faster, fresher, better is expected.

Those expectations however, mean very little to those who want to control every aspect of the internet. Both the greedy geeks and SEO service sites are still trying to cling desperately to the old internet that they claim to have built. But that web is just that--old. Users, browsers, small business owners and even corporate moguls have decided that they want a say, they want to be part of the web building process.

There has never been a better time for Emarketers to take up SEO strategies. Because while it is still work, it's a lot easier than it was five years ago. For those who are unfamiliar with the concept of Web 2.0 strategies it's about the coming together of collective minds to contribute to the expansion of the web.

Web marketers are beginning to understand that they no longer have monopoly over content creation. And why would they want to. I, for one, welcome anyone who wants to add the expansion of my site by providing me with content that my users can use and further contribute too.

Web 2.0 strategies allow you to get in front of a lot of people a lot faster. With users passing around content and videos, sending links to like minded people, and posting in virtually every corner that will allow them, net marketers should be cheering instead of shaking their heads while they fumble around with the old methods.

Many Web 2.0 critics debate that it circulates crap and that competition for marketers is ridiculously fierce as everyone tries to get on the front page of virtually every news-feed out there. But I beg to differ. Google and other major search engines still have some say as to what gets ranked what. Also, as more and more content gets produced users become pickier as to what they consider "quality" and what "crap" is. As for the competition, this is marketing there has always been competition and there always will be.

If you've been sitting around trying to figure out what Web 2.0 is and whether or not to do it, stop thinking and start link sharing, social bookmaking, voting, and creating sticky content.

People can debate all they want the fact is the web has altered. The rules for the marketing game have changed. You are either in or out.

Unlock The Secrets To Creating A Resource Box That Will Explode Your Opt-In List

A powerful resource box is one of the most important parts that you need to master when marketing your business using articles. The reason for this is that this is where your link to your website exists.

Let us look in forensic detail how this process works. The major article directories make most of their money from advertising. So the more content that their website has the more traffic that they will attract from search engines.

When you submit an article and it gets approved by an editor at a directory they will include it in their database. You have to first give before you receive. If you share a slice of your expertise you will find that some readers will like what you say and click through to your website.

Now this is where many novice marketers lose their visitor. They write very long articles so that the reader does not even make it to the end and see your resource box. I suggest that you focus on 250 to 350 word articles.

Your bio needs to be your unique selling proposition. You need to have your 30 second elevator pitch here. Make your reader curious enough to want to click through to your website. Also ensure that you send them to a squeeze page so that you can build a list.

Finally, many people bury their link. They will first mention their credentials. This is one of the worst mistakes that you can make. Have your unique selling proposition with an ebook that your visitor can download.
